Contents include a summary and scale of the problem, what is fuelling antibiotic resistance, why we need to act now, encouraging responsible prescribing and the role everyone has to play Antibiotic consumption in England is on the rise and increased antibiotic prescribing is fuelling increased resistance in bacteria. Public Health England (PHE) wants to see a reduction in the number of infections caused by antibiotic resistant bacteria. This resource focuses on what works to help improve appropriate prescribing. It is aimed at those responsible for prescribing, local authorities and public health policymakers.
