Antimicrobial resistance - RCN position on the nursing contribution

Best practice
Abstract:
This publication highlights the contribution that nursing brings to this important challenge. This Royal College of Nursing (RCN) publication describes the contribution that nurses and nursing can make at an international, national and local level to reduce the risk of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). To achieve successful reductions in antimicrobial resistance all disciplines within the health, social care and public health workforce must be engaged and contributing to the delivery of local and national programmes aimed at reducing AMR and improving population health. The document has been developed to stimulate discussion and ensure nurses are fully involved and engaged with initiatives and actions that impact on AMR
