Clostridium difficile: infection and infection prevention through hygiene in the home

his leaflet has been put together to provide background information and advice on what to do if there is risk of spread of Clostridium difficile in the home. This briefing material has been produced for those who work in healthcare professions, the media and others who are looking for background understanding of Clostridium difficile infection and/or those who are responsible for providing guidance to the public on how to prevent the spread of Clostridium difficile in their homes. The hygiene practice advice given in this document is taken from the IFH review document: Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Clostridium difficile and ESBL-producing Escherichia coli in the home and community: assessing the problem, controlling the spread.
