Communication toolkit on tick-borne diseases

Best practice, Training
Abstract:
This communication toolkit, developed by ECDC, includes template materials such as posters, leaflets, factsheets, etc. for different audiences with information on tick-borne diseases and preventive measures. The aim of the toolkit is to assist public health authorities in Member States in the development of strategies and communication materials to raise awareness on prevention and control of tick-borne diseases. Toolkit materials can be used and adapted by the countries if they so wish, according to national strategies and needs. The toolkit is not intended to replace existing national campaigns nor is it intended as formal guidance to Member States. As the specific tick-borne diseases present in a country and the affected areas vary, the content of the materials has been kept as general as possible and allows for local adaptation. The full tick-borne diseases communication toolkit is available on a CD-ROM for public health authorities in Member States. It includes a guidance document explaining in detail the toolkit’s content and how the materials can be used and locally adapted, as well as all the toolkit prototype documents and the layout files (templates, pictures, fonts) for easy adaptation. It also includes ideas on how to develop a poster competition on tick-borne diseases in schools.
