Abstract: 
This brochure gives an overview of ECDC's core activities. The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), established in 2005, is the European Union agency with the responsibility to strengthen Europe's defences against infectious diseases. It is based in Stockholm, Sweden. ECDC's mission is to identify, assess and communicate current and emerging threats to human health posed by infectious diseases, and to support and help coordinate European Union countries’ preparedness and response capacities.
