Report on Infection Control - Findings and Themes

Other
Abstract:
In determining the scope and approach of this review, HIW worked with the Welsh Assembly Government’s policy lead on Hospital Associated Infection (HAI), a lead nurse advisor and Welsh Health Estates. A review team was established that included HIW staff and two appointed reviewers, one of whom was an Infection Control Nurse, who also assisted in planning the review and designing the assessment tools that were used. It was decided that the general approach to the review should be to carry out ‘spot checks’ that included on site observations and interviews with staff. This report outlines the findings of the review and HIW will carry out another programme of spot checks in 2007-08.
