Revised enforcement policy (consultation)
Consultation
Abstract:
This consultation looks at changes CQC have had to make to the enforcement policy to reflect new enforcement powers. The CQC have revised their current enforcement policy because some enforcement powers are different to those anticipated when they published the first policy in March 2009. There are changes to Warning Notice arrangements, and CQC have added ‘Compliance Actions’ and ‘Improvement Actions’ to our possible regulatory responses. Our basic approach and the principles we will follow when responding to failure to comply with the essential standards remains unchanged from our existing policy. The consultation runs until Tuesday 31 August 2010. It is planned that the final enforcement policy will be published on 1 October 2010. We encourage providers, people who use services and other stakeholders to respond to our consultation
