Abstract: 
The chapter from ‘Clostridium difficile infection – How to Deal with the Problem’ (published in December 2008) has been revised in line with new evidence. This treatment/management guidance replaces the previous version. The new guidance was agreed by a small sub-group (Appendix 2) and endorsed by Public Health England’s Healthcare Associated Infection, Antimicrobial Resistance and Stewardship (HCAI & AMRS) Programme Board.
