Abstract:
The report covers the main findings of the ECDC expert mission to Central Macedonia in August 2010. The main objective of the visit was to review the epidemiological and virological situation of West Nile virus infection in the region, including identifying the characteristics of the epidemic and all information available from veterinary and entomological surveillance, as well as blood safety surveillance, and further refining the current risk assessment for transmission of the virus to humans in Greece and other EU Member States.
